City of Ember
So, the movie City of Ember just came out, and I was wondering if anyone has seen it or plans to see it. Since it's based on a book, I thought that this would be a great place to discuss the movie and novel. Which did you like better? What was your favorite part/scene? What are you excited about seeing on screen? What do you wish they had included in the movie?

I saw City of Ember last night and would say overall that it's worth seeing. I like the visual effects best, whether the visual depiction of Ember with its hanging lights to the boat escape. The characters were not terribly well-developed, but that could said for the book as well. More importantly for the movie, the plot moved quickly and kept my attention. I'm interested to hear what others thought of this film adaptation and will look forward to blogging about the Twilight movie next.
It seemed to me that the movie tried to remain true to the book. I was glad that they chose actors who didn't have the perfect teeth, hair, drop dead gorgeous looks, etc. The kids they chose for the roles seemed to fit their characters well. I was very suprised to see Tim Robbins in the movie, I have always enjoyed his acting. I knew Bill Murray was playing the part of the mayor and I was unsure how he would work in the role but he pulled it off bettter than I had anticipated.
Overall it was a good film, easy to follow and fun to watch.
I saw City of Ember and really thought it was slow and boring .The mayor role played by Bill Murray was campy and did not display his true evil side. The childrens quest was made to look way to easy .The visual effects were great.I only hope the sequel will be better.
